Code Enforcement

The City of Stamford Code Enforcement Division, in partnership with the Texas Communities Group (TCG) works to promote safe, clean, and well-kept properties throughout the community. The division and TCG works with residents and property owners to address concerns and ensure compliance with local ordinances.

Common Violations


Code Enforcement addresses a variety of common concerns, including:

  • Unkept or overgrown properties

  • Illegal dumping or debris

  • Inoperable or abandoned vehicles

  • Illegal parking

  • Unsafe structures

  • Zoning or ordinance violations

To report a code enforcement issue, please contact City Hall.

Enforcement Process


Code Enforcement works to resolve issues through communication and cooperation whenever possible. Failure to comply with City property maintenance ordinances may result in additional enforcement action, including abatement by the City, liens being placed on the property, and daily complaints being filed in Municipal Court.

The general process may include:

  • Inspection of the reported concern

  • Notification to the property owner

  • Time to correct the issue

  • Additional action if the issue is not resolved

The goal of Code Enforcement is to help maintain a safe, clean, and well-kept community for all residents.
